As a Product Manager, I led the development of Axio, a decentralized logistics platform designed to connect travelers and couriers with customers needing delivery services. By leveraging a blockchain-inspired, decentralized model, Axio provides secure, cost-effective, and transparent delivery services.

We built a mobile app and website to streamline logistics for individuals, small businesses, and enterprises, integrating real-time tracking, automated payments, and delivery security features.

We built a mobile app and website to streamline logistics for individuals, small businesses, and enterprises, integrating real-time tracking, automated payments, and delivery security features.

Approach

1. Market Research & Problem Identification

  • We identified key pain points in Nigeria’s logistics industry:

    • High delivery costs & inefficiencies for small businesses.

    • Lack of secure, real-time tracking for deliveries.

    • Limited earning opportunities for travelers & independent couriers.

    • Trust issues between customers and logistics providers.

We gathered user insights from small businesses, logistics companies, and travelers to define our product scope.

2. Product Strategy & Feature Prioritization

We structured the platform to serve three core user groups:
Customers: Individuals & businesses needing affordable delivery services.
Couriers & Travelers: Drivers & everyday commuters earning by delivering packages.
Logistics Companies: Enterprises managing large-scale delivery operations.

Based on user needs, we prioritized:

  • Real-time delivery tracking with GPS & smart notifications.

  • Escrow system to ensure secure transactions and reduce fraud.

  • Secure transactions via smart wallets & instant payouts.

  • Driver & user verification (BVN, NIN, and license validation).

  • Automated route optimization for faster deliveries.

  • User rating & review system for security & reliability.

3. Development & Engineering Execution

A. Tech Stack & Architecture

  • Frontend: React Native (Mobile), React.js (Web).

  • Backend: Node.js, Firebase (for real-time tracking).

  • Payments: Paystack, Flutterwave, and escrow-based smart contracts for secure transactions.

  • Security: Biometric authentication, encrypted user data, fraud detection algorithms.
